Trump’s Homage to That 1939 Nazi Rally Went As Expected
Last night was a flat-out Nazi rally. If Americans don’t repudiate it, we are beyond saving. -YouTube comment on the Bulwark video “Trump’s Vile MAGA Rally Offends Crucial Group of Voters”
One week until the most consequential election of our lives, and Trump can’t stop proving exactly how important this election is by getting even more racist and more fascist. We’re seeing everything awful about Trump “on steroids”, to quote one of his repertoire of 4–5 stock phrases he uses over and over again at his rallies.
The blowback from Sunday’s fiesta of hatred and clownishness continues, even as the Trump campaign tries to a) deny it had anything to do with the American Nazi fest of 1939 in the same location, and b) distance Trump from comments made by that really un-funny racist “comedian” whose jokes they had not only vetted, but they’d even tossed one where he used the “C” word to refer to our Vice President.
Here’s the thing. General John Kelly just came out publicly to denounce Trump and reiterated his anecdotes about Trump praising not just Hitler but also his generals, wishing HIS generals were “as loyal.” Trump also allegedly stated “Hitler did some good things.”
