I got the news about Biden’s unexpected decision to step aside in the 2024 presidential race at the gym. I was scrolling Instagram when his letter popped up. Then my phone blew up.

I couldn’t write anything yesterday because a) I was still processing it; b) I spent hours on the phone commiserating with my friends; and c) I was too upset. The media that spun a toxic narrative about Biden’s age and cognitive abilities won, and now these fickle corporate Trump enablers want to put Biden on a pedestal for his compliance with their destructive agenda.

Here’s the new narrative: Joe Biden stepped aside “for the good of the country.” After negligently ignoring his record of achievements for four years and incessantly hammering on a narrative that he’s too cognitively impaired and old to run again, corporate media is suddenly putting him on a pedestal as a hero. It makes me nauseous, frankly.
