The Crazy “Fringe” Philosophy Motivating Musk, Trump and Vance
There’s a reason they want to burn it all down.
The media needs to stop blaming Democrats and things like our desire to protect trans people as the reason Harris lost the election.
It’s time for them to take a close, hard look at what’s motivating Trump’s bizarre cabinet picks. Why on earth would Trump appoint an alleged sex trafficker of underage girls as the top law enforcement official, or an admitted dog-killer (and proud of it) for DHS? A crackpot anti-vaxxer for HHS? A white nationalist who wants to start a civil war as Secretary of Defense?
He can’t seem to stop recruiting truly awful, incompetent people for very important positions when lives, national security, and just the general functioning of a stable government that respects the rule of law is at stake, no matter how much push-back he gets.
The media seems to be more perplexed than alarmed, and that alone is alarming. While I do suspect obedience to Putin has a lot to do with the Trump team’s motivation to burn our democracy down, I think there’s another factor at work.
It’s time to took a hard look at the fringe movement influencing Trump and his immediate circle: accelerationism.
