Fox News Drags the GOP into the Barrel

Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis said in 1913, “Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman.” It sure has been sunny the past week!

Remember the Mueller investigation, how the phrase “time in the barrel” became popular? I thought of it as I watched the breaking news revealed last night by MSNBC that Ted Cruz was caught ON TAPE explaining a plot to overthrow our democracy to Fox News pundit Maria Bartiromo. The release of this tape, related to the Dominion lawsuit that Fox just settled for nearly $800 million, was probably provided by Abby Grossberg, the former Bartiromo/Tucker Carlson producer who’s suing Fox over the abuse she suffered in their sexist, misogynistic, antisemitic hellhole of a workplace.

Sure looks like it’s Fox News’ time in the barrel, and they’re taking the GOP down with them. And I couldn’t be happier.

Here’s the thing about the Cruz tape. The first Cruz/Bartiromo tape released proved that he knew there was no voter fraud in 2020. But here he is in this most recent tape, discussing using a fake “commission” allegedly to “investigate” claims that were already disproven in multiple courtrooms and by multiple audits, in order to overturn the election for Trump.

There sure were a lot of Republicans seemingly coordinating the insurrection with Fox News. It raises the question: did Fox give election deniers like Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani a platform, despite knowing they were full of shit (as Dominion evidence proved), specifically to intentionally incite them to riot and overturn the election?
