A Tale of Two Parties and Two Conventions
I’m still thinking about the DNC. It definitely blew past everyone’s wildest expectations, despite the overwhelmingly enthusiastic reception the Harris/Walz team has been receiving everywhere they go. And NO, DONALD TRUMP — their crowds are not AI. I have friends who attended their rallies and saw the giant crowds firsthand.
The DNC reminded us that politics can actually be fun! Instead of washed-up wrestlers and UFC champions who have been credibly accused of spousal abuse, we had national treasure Stevie Wonder. The beautiful song stylings of Pink and John Legend. The Chicks (known as the Dixie Chicks back when fans of George W. Bush were burning their records in the lead-up to the Iraq war) performed a beautiful rendition of our national anthem.
And it begged the question: why didn’t anyone ever think of adding music to a roll call before?
